Making Washington Smaller and Utah Stronger
Mike Kennedy ran for Congress to do the job the right way: follow the Constitution, rein in federal overreach, and stand up for Utah families dealing with higher costs.
Before Congress, Mike served in Utah’s part-time legislature, where he helped deliver tax relief, balance budgets, and defend individual freedoms. That experience carries into how he serves today, focused on doing the work and delivering where it matters.
Congressman Kennedy has:
- Passed legislation to strengthen wildfire prevention and protect Utah communities
- Worked to improve rail safety and protect supply chains that Utah jobs rely on
- Led efforts to expand energy production and improve permitting so projects can move forward and create jobs
- Introduced legislation to expand technical education and strengthen workforce pathways
- Worked to improve healthcare access, especially in rural communities
- Taken action to protect American research and jobs from foreign adversaries
- Consistently opposed wasteful spending and federal overreach
Mike will continue working to lower costs, expand opportunity, and restore a federal government that operates within its proper role.
Cutting Taxes and Lowering the Cost of Living
Families across Utah are still feeling the impact of higher prices. Before Mike took office, inflation peaked at over 9%. Families are still dealing with the effects of that increase today.
Mike is focused on relief that shows up in paychecks and family budgets.
Congressman Kennedy has:
- Supported and helped advance eliminating taxes on tips and overtime so working Utahns keep more of what they earn
- Supported strengthening the Child Tax Credit and protecting it from inflation
- Backed a deduction for car loan interest to support working families
- Worked to expand access to Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts
- Sponsored the Let’s Get to Work Act to strengthen workforce participation
Mike has pushed back on spending policies that drive inflation and increase costs because decisions made in Washington affect families here in Utah. He will continue working to lower costs and make life more affordable.
Protecting Taxpayers and Reining in Government
Washington has a spending problem, and Mike has been clear about that from day one.
Congressman Kennedy has:
- Voted against bloated spending bills
- Opposed policies that expand government without accountability
- Worked to reduce fraud and abuse in federal programs
- Pushed for stronger oversight of taxpayer dollars
- Continued to support term limits for members of Congress and unelected federal bureaucrats
Mike will continue working to restore discipline, protect taxpayers, and bring government back within its proper limits, with a focus on serving the American people.
American Energy Independence and Dominance
Energy policy directly impacts jobs, cost of living, and national security. Mike supports an all-of-the-above approach that puts American energy first and protects Utah’s ability to produce.
Congressman Kennedy has:
- Worked to expand domestic energy production to support Utah jobs and lower costs
- Pushed back on federal land decisions that limit access to Utah resources
- Supported efforts to cut red tape that delays projects and prevents job creation
Mike will continue working on energy affordability, reliability, and production here at home while strengthening American energy independence and dominance.
Securing the Border and Enforcing the Law
Mike supports securing the border, enforcing the law, and protecting our communities.
Congressman Kennedy has:
- Supported the Laken Riley Act to strengthen enforcement and protect communities from violent offenders
- Focused on stopping the flow of fentanyl into Utah communities
- Supported efforts to strengthen border security and restore enforcement
- Worked to go after drug cartels and human trafficking networks
At the same time, Mike believes the system needs to work. His father came to this country legally, and he understands the value of legal immigration and doing things the right way.
Utah has always been a place that welcomes people who come here legally, work hard, and contribute to our country. Mike supports fixing our legal immigration system so it is clear, consistent, and fair, while protecting our communities and keeping our nation secure.
Improving Healthcare Access and Affordability
As a physician, Mike understands the system from the inside. He has worked to improve access to care, especially in rural communities where options are limited.
Congressman Kennedy has:
- Supported policies that make it easier to open and sustain rural hospitals
- Worked to expand telehealth so patients can get care closer to home
- Supported strengthening Health Savings Accounts to give patients more control
Mike will continue working to improve access to care while ensuring healthcare decisions are made by patients and doctors, not Washington.
Defending the Constitution and Standing with Families
Mike believes the Constitution sets clear limits on federal power, and believes those limits matter.
Congressman Kennedy has:
- Defended the right to life, the Second Amendment, and religious liberty
- Pushed back on federal overreach and efforts to take power away from states and families
- Supported policies that give parents more transparency and a stronger voice in decisions affecting their children
As a Utah state senator, Mike sponsored and passed legislation to protect minors from dangerous and irreversible transgender surgeries. He took that stand despite intense backlash and did not back down, even when he received threats and his home was vandalized.
In Congress, he has continued that work by sponsoring the Chloe Cole Act to further protect children with serious, actionable policy.
Mike will continue defending the Constitution, protecting individual freedom, and standing with families.

Help put Utah ahead of special interests.
